The radio is in the correct range of 08-10 model years where the RER nav radio was the premium option. So it should be compatible between model years. My system came with the premium boston package and I believe the SRT8 only came with either premium boston or kicker systems. Right, from my understanding the RER navigation radio came factory with either the premium boston or optional kicker system. Obviously it’s the opposite of useful in that mode. Any other head unit will send it into DF (default) mode, which unfortunately seems to be what you’ve experienced thus far. As far as I know, though, our amp is only capable of working with the factory radio that came with the “premium” audio package. What I do know is that he does not need any wiring for the amp to work if the car was premium but if it was not, it cannot be made to work, as the CAN commands to make the amp work are not present. Given how long it’s been since we worked on any of the older CAN B systems, I do not remember all that is involved for swapping radios and using our CAN amps. If it gets confusing commands, it will often revert to what is call DF mode (default) and does not operate properly. The TPM module sends a command to the amp for what EQ to load, and the amp in turn loads the proper EQ. If he has changed the radio, the CAN control is confused and our amp is also confused. The amp is a Plug-and-play-only amp, but it does have surround mode (up,up,down, down) on volume control. Thanks again for your patience and support, and have a great evening. I will keep you posted if I get some more info on the amp and speaker situation. Lastly, as to the additional parts you mentioned, we discontinued this product quite a while back and unfortunately no longer have any of the harnesses in stock. Again, I’ve asked some other folks here to weigh in on that issue as well. I didn’t think their volume would drop THAT much, but it’s possible it could. The Kicker amp is set up to create a front stage / rear fill sound, so the rear speakers do in fact become “rear fill” only – much like what you’d have in a surround-sound system. I’ve forwarded your note to a couple folks here who might be able to provide more insight on that question. That could be why you’re having problems triggering the DSS. I’m not totally sure it’s designed to work with the RER head unit. I looked through the instructions for the 77KICK18AB Kicker amp to refresh my memory on its interface. We appreciate your support of the Kicker brand. Thanks for contacting us about our products for your Jeep. Could it be that I don't have the proper harness or something else possibly? I also wanted to get in contact with you about getting the sub pigtail the comes off of the wiring harness.
#CANNOT COMUNICATE WITH AMPLIFIER UCONNECT JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE UPGRADE#
Would you be able to help me with this? I was under the impression that using the factory boston acoustics harness should be perfectly fine for the upgrade and everythinf should be fine. Also it seems like the DSS may not be working, I tried the volume thing where you turn it up 2 then down 2 within 3 seconds and nothing seems to have changed. I noticed the kicker speakers sound better with the boston acoustics amp, with the kicker amp I noticed reduced volume as well as the 2 rear 6.5 have very low output, I can hear them as if they were at volume 4 or 5 with the actual volume turned up to the max of 38. I switched out all the speakers to the kicker upgraded speakers. Originally my system set up came with the factory boston acoustic set up. I recently purchased a 2008 RER factory mopar head unit. I wanted to get in touch with you about the jeep wk (2005-2010) kicker system. I spoke with Jacob from Kicker and these are our conversations: I have tried doing the kicker amp reset methods found on a few forums. I have tried disconnecting the battery and resetting the car that way. I installed the kicker amp that came from what I was told a 2010 Jeep GC SRT8. The kicker speakers were all installed and play from every speaker. I am using an RER head unit that I was told came out of a 2008 Jeep GC SRT8. It's a 2009 grand cherokee laredo that came factory with the boston acoustics premium audio. but it's soon to be supercharged (doing project yellow jacket with the 03/04 cobra eaton m112 blower at 500rwhp) Hello all, So currently I am trying to do this Kicker upgrade in my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.
